Boyd McCaw was a teacher and eventually the last principal of the public high school in Kandahar from 1972 until 1987. He was the principal when the school closed. It had at the time 29 students, not enough for the local school board to keep it going. Later when the school building became a rock and roll club (nite skool) – Boyd had a house very near the school and did not welcome the change and the amount of noise created by the rock groups that were performing.
